Sunrise stillness on the Grand Canal

A Memory of Venice is my visually rich, emotionally charged painting that captures the timeless beauty of Venice at daybreak. Inspired by a sunrise view from the Accademia Bridge, just a short walk from Saint Mark’s Square, this large-scale work is both a celebration of travel and a meditation on memory.

The scene is still and unhurried. The gondolas haven’t yet filled the Grand Canal. Tourists haven’t crowded the walkways. It’s a fleeting moment between night and day, when the sky reflects gently in the water, broken only by soft ripples and the hint of movement below. With bold palette knife strokes, signature polka dots, and vibrant hues layered across the canvas, I transform a quiet morning into a sensory experience. Raw, unbleached 12 oz. cotton canvas. Stretched by hand and primed with two coats of premium, artist-grade gesso.

Wood Stretcher Bars

Made from solid, knot-free pine sourced and milled in the U.S. Heavy-duty bars resist warping and maintain canvas tension.

UV Varnish

4 coats of UV-blocking acrylic varnish form a permanent, non-removable film that resists yellowing and fogging.

How to Purchase

Transit times (continental US)
• UPS Ground: usually 3–7 business days in transit.

Damage in transit
