Arno Sunset: Florence at dusk

Arno Sunset is a romantic, atmospheric landscape from my Tuscany, Italy series, capturing the quiet, breathtaking moment just before nightfall in Florence. Depicting the Arno River as it winds through the heart of the Renaissance city, the view looks west at sunset, casting dramatic silhouettes of Florence’s historic bridges, including the world-renowned Ponte Vecchio. A burst of orange splatter symbolizes the first lights flickering on along the riverbanks: street lamps, windows, and golden interiors beginning to glow as the city shifts from day to evening.

Cool-toned blues and purples dominate the composition, bringing calm to the scene, while soft yellows, pinks, and oranges from the sunset reflect gently off the water. Raw, unbleached 12 oz. cotton canvas. Stretched by hand and primed with two coats of premium, artist-grade gesso.

Wood Stretcher Bars

Made from solid, knot-free pine sourced and milled in the U.S. Heavy-duty bars resist warping and maintain canvas tension.

UV Varnish

4 coats of UV-blocking acrylic varnish form a permanent, non-removable film that resists yellowing and fogging.

How to Purchase

You may reserve the painting, which will direct you to a page to enter your email and shipping address so we can create a shipping quote.

Damage in transit
