Blues Stanley Cup Compilation brings together all eleven paintings I created during the St. Louis Blues’ historic 2019 Stanley Cup Playoff run, one painting per game across the final eleven games of the postseason.
I chose each subject by merit as the playoffs unfolded, and about halfway through the series, the project caught the attention of local and national news outlets. Painted in order, the series moves from goaltender Jordan Binnington through Patrick Maroon’s iconic “777” double-overtime goal, Jaden Schwartz’s hat trick celebration, the Plager brothers, Vladimir Tarasenko, Brayden Schenn, Conn Smythe winner Ryan O’Reilly, David Perron, head coach Craig “Chief” Berube, and defenseman Colton Parayko.
