Story & Inspiration

Colton Parayko honors one of eleven paintings I created during the St. Louis Blues’ historic 2019 Stanley Cup Playoff run. The 6'6" Canadian, drafted by the Blues in 2012, was a pivotal member of the team throughout the regular season and playoffs.

Parayko recorded two goals and ten assists in 26 postseason games, logging over 25 minutes of ice time a night as a top-pairing defenseman. In the Game 7 series-clinching win against the Boston Bruins, he led all skaters with 27 minutes and 37 seconds on the ice, and in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final, he tied a franchise record with three assists in a single playoff period. After the Game 7 victory, Parayko famously hoisted the Stanley Cup on the ice alongside 11-year-old Blues fan Laila Anderson, one of the most memorable images of the championship run.
