Il Ponte Vecchio captures a cropped, intimate view of Florence’s most iconic bridge, the only one spared during WWII. Rather than depict the entire bridge, I chose to zoom in on its most intimate elements, the clustered windows, aged cream walls, suspended shops, and iconic terracotta rooftops, bringing human scale and story to an architectural marvel.
The historic Vasari Corridor appears above, historically connecting the powerful Medici family’s residence to the government building and offering a peek into the city’s royal past. Painted in warm Tuscan hues that softly reflect on the Arno below, the piece is part of my Tuscany, Italy series, celebrating everyday life, legacy, and the layered charm of Florence’s Renaissance architecture.
