Majestic Motion is my striking fusion of fine art, fashion heritage, and equestrian elegance, painted directly onto an authentic Hermès silk scarf. The scarf, titled Stately Wheels, celebrates the French fashion house’s original identity as a harness and saddle maker. Founded in 1837 by Thierry Hermès in Paris, the brand began by outfitting European nobility with custom leather equestrian goods, an origin story that directly inspired this work.
At the heart of Majestic Motion is a white royal carriage, its shape echoing the white blaze on a horse’s face. Above the carriage, a regal crown and ornate bridle pay homage to Hermès’ equestrian roots. The hand-rolled dark red edge stands out against a soft pink background, while white reins outline a noble horse’s head around the scarf’s border. The inclusion of two coachmen adds a layer of story and historical depth. To honor the craftsmanship, I mounted the delicate silk onto a custom wood support that enhances both the structure and presentation of the piece, mirroring the brand’s legacy of made-to-measure design and attention to detail. With a palette of pink, orange, gray, white, and gold, the result is a one-of-a-kind artwork that reflects movement, tradition, and luxury.
