Soccer Painting Raises Almost $10,000 for Breast Cancer Patients
St. Louis is known for being a sports town, though many people outside of the city aren't aware of its rich soccer history. They also don't know about its strong philanthropic culture. Both of these passions aligned in September when Pink Ribbon Good (PRG) hosted its annual fundraising gala at CITYPARK, home of the brand new St. Louis CITY SC.
I created an original 24"x48" painting of star goalkeeper Roman Bürki for the live auction and finished it on-site during the cocktail reception. Not only was it a gorgeous evening, but it was an incredible experience to interact with everyone who came out to support PRG's mission to "serve every person and family affected by breast and gynecological cancer."
I had an hour to paint the finishing touches and then anxiously waited for the live auction to begin. The auctioneer expertly navigated a very flattering bidding war, and one gentleman among a room of 500 people won the piece for almost $10,000. It was an honor to share my love of art with so many good-hearted people who collectively donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the cause. Here is a video recap of the evening:

All the best,
