In A Passage of Color, I capture a fleeting, unforgettable moment in the heart of Florence, Italy, one of the world’s most beloved and visually iconic cities. Part of my Tuscany, Italy series, this vibrant piece transforms a quiet architectural scene into a compelling story of spontaneity and exploration. Two women climb an unfamiliar staircase, surrounded by stacked balconies, weathered walls, and sun-drenched textures. What begins as a simple walk becomes a colorful detour worth remembering.

Florence is known for its Renaissance roots, artistic legacy, and charming alleyways. But A Passage of Color focuses on the quieter side of adventure. It celebrates the feeling of tucking away your map and letting the city guide you instead. The narrow stairwell, draped in color and light, invites the viewer to imagine where it leads. Details like polka dots, painterly brushwork, and layered tones create movement and emotion within the frame, turning an ordinary corner into something cinematic. This painting is a tribute to the joy of discovery and the magic of places we don’t plan to find.
