Jackie in Palm Beach
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (1929-1994), known as “Jackie O”, is the definition of an icon. One of the youngest First Ladies in U.S. history, her beauty, charisma, and style captivated the entire world. This is the first portrait in a series of Jackie traveling around the globe through her famous sunglasses.
The Kennedy’s “Winter White House” on North Ocean Blvd. was built by Addison Mizner in 1923 and was owned by the family from 1941-1995. A young Jackie is seen here looking into the future at modern day Palm Beach and the Worth Avenue Clock Tower. The original 48"x32" acrylic portrait on canvas features high gloss sunglass lenses over a satin varnish.
Note: Gallery-wrapped canvas is only available in 16x24, 20x30, and 24x36. The spot varnish is only on the original painting and not the prints.
Original painting SOLD.
Print Technique & Materials
Prints are reproductions of original paintings using a high-quality inkjet printing technique known as "giclee."
Unframed and framed artwork is printed on archival cotton rag paper, which is acid free and will resist fading and discoloration for generations. Unframed prints on paper are unsigned and feature a 1.5"-2" white border around the image.
All framing is custom made to the exact specifications of each image, with an acid-free white mat, black moulding, and acrylic glazing (glass is prone to breaking when shipped). Most prints are non-traditional sizes and will not fit properly in mats or frames purchased off the shelf, therefore custom framing is necessary.
Canvas prints are referred to as "gallery-wrapped" because the color or image wraps around the sides of the canvas and it is stapled on the back. The canvas is wrapped around 1.5" deep wood stretcher bars and arrives ready to hang.
Framed canvas prints feature a "float frame," which has a 0.5" gap between the edge of the canvas and the frame moulding. The frame is 1.75" deep.
