Story & Inspiration

Jimmy Buffett, the Storyteller is my tribute to the poetic soul behind the Margaritaville brand. Rather than spotlight Jimmy’s commercial fame, this piece honors his true legacy as a songwriter and storyteller, shaped by his early days as a young musician in Mobile, Alabama, and the coastal influence of Key West.

Raised by Parrothead parents, I grew up listening to Jimmy’s music, and this piece reflects that lifelong connection. The background blends a vintage nautical chart from 1855 with handwritten lyrics from “Last Mango in Paris” and “Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes.” A parrot over his heart symbolizes his connection to his fans and love for performing, while a spot varnish quote from “Twelve Volt Man” hides in plain sight, offering a subtle emotional anchor for fans who know his deeper catalog.
