Majestic Motion: A Silk Tribute to Hermès Equestrian Heritage and Design
Majestic Motion is a one-of-a-kind artwork by Kyle Lucks, created on an authentic 100% silk Hermès scarf titled Stately Wheels. Inspired by the luxury brand’s origins as a Parisian harness maker, this piece blends elegance, equestrian history, and design innovation. A royal carriage, crown, and ornate bridles evoke a regal past, while the horse’s blaze is echoed in the crisp white detailing. Lucks custom-built a wood support to preserve the scarf’s silk integrity, just as Hermès once handcrafted saddles. With pink, orange, white, and deep red tones, Majestic Motion celebrates movement, heritage, and the timeless beauty of craftsmanship.
Inside the Art: The Story Behind Majestic Motion
Majestic Motion by Kyle Lucks is a striking fusion of fine art, fashion heritage, and equestrian elegance, painted directly onto an authentic Hermès silk scarf. The scarf, titled Stately Wheels, celebrates the French fashion house’s original identity as a harness and saddle maker. Founded in 1837 by Thierry Hermès in Paris, the brand began by outfitting European nobility with custom leather equestrian goods - an origin story that directly inspired this work.
At the heart of Majestic Motion is a white royal carriage, its shape echoing the white blaze on a horse’s face. Above the carriage, a regal crown and ornate bridle pay homage to Hermès’ equestrian roots. The hand-rolled dark red edge stands out against a soft pink background, while white reins outline a noble horse’s head around the scarf’s border. The inclusion of two coachmen adds a layer of story and historical depth.
To honor the craftsmanship, Lucks mounted the delicate silk onto a custom wood support that enhances both the structure and presentation of the piece. This careful process mirrors the brand’s
legacy of made-to-measure design and attention to detail.
With a palette of pink, orange, gray, white, and gold, Majestic Motion blends iconic color with thoughtful symbolism. The result is a one-of-a-kind artwork that reflects movement, tradition, and luxury, perfect for collectors who appreciate the intersection of history, fashion, and equestrian art.

Print Technique & Materials
Prints are reproductions of original paintings using a high-quality inkjet printing technique known as "giclee."
Unframed and framed artwork is printed on archival cotton rag paper, which is acid free and will resist fading and discoloration for generations. Unframed prints on paper are unsigned and feature a 1.5"-2" white border around the image. Most unframed prints are non-standard sizes and will require a custom mat to properly display the artwork, though the outer dimensions of the mat will fit standard frame sizes.
All framing is custom made to the exact specifications of each image, with an acid-free white mat and acrylic glazing (glass is prone to breaking when shipped). Most prints are non-traditional sizes and will not fit properly in mats or frames purchased off the shelf, therefore custom framing is recommended.
Canvas prints are referred to as "gallery-wrapped" because the color or image wraps around the sides of the canvas and it is stapled on the back. The canvas is wrapped around 1.5" deep wood stretcher bars and arrives ready to hang.
Framed canvas prints feature a "float frame," which has a 0.25" gap between the edge of the canvas and the frame moulding. The frame is 2" deep.
Custom Mat for Unframed Paper
Most unframed prints are non-standard sizes and will require a custom mat to properly display the artwork, though the outer dimensions of the mat will fit standard frame sizes.
You can purchase a custom mat from your local frame shop or online. If online, we suggest Matboard & More. Choose Arctic White in Decorative Quality, or if you prefer to upgrade, select White Art in Conservation Quality.
