Patrick Maroon “777” captures the exact moment when Maroon, a St. Louis native and #7 for the Blues, clinched Game 7 of the 2019 Western Conference Semifinals in double overtime. Painted during the team’s legendary run to its first Stanley Cup title, this artwork celebrates grit, glory, and a hometown legacy written in ice. The number “777” nods to Maroon’s jersey, the decisive game, and the date, May 7, 2019.
The goal, scored against the Dallas Stars, launched the Blues into the Conference Finals and turned Maroon into a hometown legend. This piece is one of a limited series of eleven works created during the Blues’ historic championship run. I use dynamic movement and rich contrast to echo the intensity of playoff hockey, capturing the energy, pride, and hometown grit that carried the Blues to their first Stanley Cup victory.
