Photo Finish captures the charged instant before victory is decided. It is painted on an authentic Hermès silk scarf that features three jockeys marked 18, 3, and 7, referencing the year Hermès was founded in Paris. Two horses surge toward the finish line above the design, rendered in layered, semi-transparent acrylic, appearing suspended between strides.
Restricting the palette to deep blue gray and white allows the scarf’s pastel geometry and striking red accents to show through, creating depth without overpowering the original design. My signature polka dots punctuate the surface, adding texture and subtle disruption to the smooth geometry below, resulting in a refined intersection of racing, design, and fashion history.
