Stiletto: Strut Through the Shadows
A fleeting moment captured in shadow and stride, Stiletto invites you to imagine the lives unfolding on Florence’s sun-soaked cobblestones. A fashionable woman in heels stands confidently in front of a man mid-conversation, her silhouette framed by the dramatic shadows cast by the Tuscan sun. This piece highlights the energy, elegance, and daily theater of life in Florence, where every alleyway is a runway and every passerby has a story. With warm neutrals, sharp contrasts, and architectural texture, Stiletto is a love letter to movement, mystery, and Italian style, captured from an artist’s point of view.
Inside the Art: The Story Behind Stiletto
In Stiletto, Kyle Lucks turns a conversation on a Florentine street into a cinematic freeze-frame full of mystery, elegance, and tension. Part of his Tuscany, Italy series, this painting explores the everyday theater of Florence, where fashion, architecture, and sunlight all play starring roles.
The silhouetted figure of a woman in high heels steps confidently across cobblestones, her shadow extending in the glow of a strong Italian sun. She stands with one foot on the curb, intently listening to her male counterpart on the sidewalk. The scene is stylish and raw, captured in Lucks’ signature textural layering and emotionally charged brushwork.
The piece blends structured forms and spontaneous marks, a nod to the fast-paced rhythm of modern city life. Whether you’ve walked those exact streets or simply appreciate bold storytelling through art, Stiletto offers a timeless portrait of poise and presence in motion.

Print Technique & Materials
Prints are reproductions of original paintings using a high-quality inkjet printing technique known as "giclee."
Unframed and framed artwork is printed on archival cotton rag paper, which is acid free and will resist fading and discoloration for generations. Unframed prints on paper are unsigned and feature a 1.5"-2" white border around the image. Most unframed prints are non-standard sizes and will require a custom mat to properly display the artwork, though the outer dimensions of the mat will fit standard frame sizes.
All framing is custom made to the exact specifications of each image, with an acid-free white mat and acrylic glazing (glass is prone to breaking when shipped). Most prints are non-traditional sizes and will not fit properly in mats or frames purchased off the shelf, therefore custom framing is recommended.
Canvas prints are referred to as "gallery-wrapped" because the color or image wraps around the sides of the canvas and it is stapled on the back. The canvas is wrapped around 1.5" deep wood stretcher bars and arrives ready to hang.
Framed canvas prints feature a "float frame," which has a 0.25" gap between the edge of the canvas and the frame moulding. The frame is 2" deep.
Custom Mat for Unframed Paper
Most unframed prints are non-standard sizes and will require a custom mat to properly display the artwork, though the outer dimensions of the mat will fit standard frame sizes.
You can purchase a custom mat from your local frame shop or online. If online, we suggest Matboard & More. Choose Arctic White in Decorative Quality, or if you prefer to upgrade, select White Art in Conservation Quality.
