Story & Inspiration

Yadier Molina 2022 is my fifth portrait of Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina, created for the Josh Seidel Memorial Foundation’s 2022 fundraiser. Molina played 19 seasons in St. Louis, building a Cooperstown-caliber career defined by durability, defense, and leadership.

Splashes of paint and polka dots build the energy and visual texture that Molina brought to the game, while the background colors show through his face and white uniform, giving added character to the portrait. Accents of gold nod to his nine National League Gold Glove Awards, and a spot varnish spells out his nickname, Yadi.
