Story & Inspiration

Yadier “Yadi” Molina freezes Molina mid-motion, standing to fire a throw down to second base and catch a runner stealing, the exact skill that made him one of the most feared defensive catchers in baseball history. It was created for the American Parkinson Disease Foundation’s annual Jack Buck Memorial Golf Tournament and Auction.

Accents of gold echo his nine Gold Glove Awards, while a spot varnish spells out “Yadi” across the canvas. Often called the “Ozzie Smith of catchers,” Molina recorded the highest career defensive WAR of any catcher in MLB history, and for most of his prime, runners were caught stealing against him more than 40 percent of the time.
