Meeting the Duchess of York and Upcoming Events
I knew January would be a tough act to follow, but February has proven to be up to the challenge. The highlight of the month has been meeting Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, at the Cancer Alliance Shop the Day Away luncheon on February 7. She was the keynote speaker and discussed her battles with breast cancer and melanoma, and how important it is to get regular screenings. I painted an original portrait of her that raised $8500 during the live auction, and she graciously signed the painting for the winning bidder. After the 90-minute Meet & Greet line died down, I had the pleasure of chatting with the Duchess for a few minutes about the painting and how much she liked it.
Speaking of melanoma, my next philanthropic endeavor is painting live at the RDK Melanoma 24th Annual Luncheon & Fashion Show on February 26 at The Breakers Hotel. This year’s featured designer is Naeem Khan, whose exquisite creations will be complimented with jewelry by RUCHI New York. The exciting twist for the auction item is the winning bidder will have the opportunity to be painted into the composition. I can’t wait to share the completed work with you!
I am also excited to announce my next group show will open on March 1 from 5-9 PM at Studio 1608 in West Palm Beach. Curated by Maison Palmer, “Contemporaries” will feature a variety of artists from the county, and I look forward to exhibiting three of my Italy paintings, one of which is almost 8 feet wide! The event is free and open to the public, and complimentary valet parking will be available, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Show Pony Gallery in West Palm Beach.
Thank you for following along and supporting me during this thrilling winter season in Palm Beach. I look forward to sharing more updates in a few weeks!
All the best,
Kyle
