Season Highlights

Season Highlights

Temperatures are rising and snow birds are fleeing, meaning the traditional "season" in Palm Beach is over. With fewer events to attend, I will spend the summer building my inventory for next year and completing a few administrative projects that I have been putting off for months.

In case you missed any of my recent posts, here are some of the highlights from the previous action-packed six months:

November: Revving up the engine
The season kicked off with a group show at Studio 1608, where I showed my first horse painting, “The Jumper,” alongside my bold portraits of icons Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams.

Back in St. Louis, my painting of Cardinals legends Yadier Molina, Adam Wainwright, and Albert Pujols raised $7,000 at auction for the Immacolata School. Click on the image below to get your own print of the painting.

December: Taking our talents to South Beach
I was one of over 30 Palm Beach County artists in a group show by the No More Starving Artists Foundation during Miami Art Week. I debuted a triptych of South Florida superstars Dan Marino, Lionel Messi, and Dwyane Wade. Contact me if you are interested in collecting one, or all three, of the originals.

January: The month that put me on the map (almost literally)!
I unveiled my original painting, “A Swan in Palm Beach,” which was created for the cover of the 2024 Palm Beach Guide. It is placed in each room in the famous Breakers Hotel and mailed to every home and business in Palm Beach. Over 15,000 copies in total! I spoke about it on stage at The Breakers in front of 500 Chamber of Commerce members and even recorded a podcast about the experience, which you may watch here on Youtube.

I also debuted “Pierce Brosnan is James Bond” at Maison Palmer’s group exhibition, “The New & The Known.” It was an honor to show alongside emerging and established artists in the community, such Bruce Helander, Helmut Koller, and Cayla Birk.

February: Fundraising in full swing!
Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, was the keynote speaker at the Cancer Alliance’s Shop the Day Away luncheon, and my original portrait of her sold for $8,500! She was such a pleasure to meet and she graciously autographed and personalized the painting for the collector. Photo courtesy of Capehart Photography

I also painted live at The Breakers during a luncheon fundraiser for melanoma, featuring a fashion show by Naeem Khan and Rucci Jewelry.

March: Peak season
The Seattle Kraken hockey team came calling for a painting to celebrate Jordan Eberle’s 1000th career NHL game. The portrait was presented to him and his family on the ice before the team’s home game on March 12. It was the type of commission I had always dreamed about as a kid!

This month also featured Maison Palmer’s group show “Contemporaries,” where my paintings of Venice and Florence, Italy got their time to shine.

April: The grand finales
The “Dancing with the Stars” fundraiser I participated in last year for the Cancer Alliance is the last major gala of the season. This time around I was there to cheer on my good friend, fashion designer Jennifer Tattanelli. Her countless hours of training paid off in a beautiful performance that raised tens of thousands of dollars for cancer patients in Palm Beach County.

I attended my first polo finals at the National Polo Center in Wellington. There was no shortage of inspiration for many polo paintings to come!

May: The home stretch
I had the honor of being selected to my first gallery show in Palm Beach. Jennifer Balcos Gallery curated a horse-themed exhibition and I sold my brand new polo painting, “Power & Precision,” on opening night.

Thank you for your support during this whirlwind of a season, and safe travels if you hit the road this summer!
All the best,
Kyle
