Story & Inspiration

“Waino” honors Cardinals great Adam Wainwright, who spent his entire career in St. Louis and became one of the greatest pitchers in franchise history. The piece was created for the American Parkinson Disease Foundation’s annual Jack Buck Memorial Golf Tournament and Auction.

Wainwright’s career includes three All-Star selections, a World Series championship in 2006, two Gold Glove Awards, a Silver Slugger Award, and the Roberto Clemente Award, recognition that reflects both his skill on the mound and his character off it. I capture him mid-pitch, intently focused on the strike zone, a moment that defined thousands of innings across his career.
