“Busch at Night” captures the current Busch Stadium, which opened in 2006 and crowned the St. Louis Cardinals World Series champions in its very first season. The third stadium to bear the Busch name, it carries forward one of the most storied franchises in Major League Baseball.
The Cardinals have won the second-most World Series titles in MLB history, behind only the New York Yankees, and that legacy has helped St. Louis maintain its reputation as one of the most die-hard baseball towns in the country. This painting captures the energy just outside one of the stadium’s entrance gates as fans celebrate a win, with eleven red pennants in the background representing the franchise’s eleven World Series championships.
