Carlo: A Tribute to the Street Performers of Florence
Set in the heart of Florence, Carlo captures the soul of a Tuscan street musician lost in his song. Inspired by a real moment the artist witnessed in the city’s upscale district, this piece celebrates the quiet charisma of an accordion player performing for passing tourists. With bold colors, layered texture, and emotional storytelling, the portrait invites viewers into a scene that feels both personal and timeless. A tribute to the beauty of everyday artists and the spirit of Italy.
Inside the Art: The Story Behind Carlo
Carlo by Kyle Lucks is a vivid portrait born from a quiet, yet powerful moment in Florence, Italy. Part of the artist’s Tuscany, Italy series, this piece was inspired by a real encounter with a street musician performing outside a high-end jewelry store. The man played his accordion for tourists passing by, collecting coins in a humble cigar box. Rather than interrupt, Lucks offered a one-euro tip in exchange for a photo that later became this expressive work of art.
The color palette features dusty blues and deep navy, contrasted with warm yellows, oranges, and a bold pop of red on the accordion. Drips, polka dots, and bursts of texture bring motion and musical energy to the piece, helping viewers feel the rhythm of the moment. The artist named the musician “Carlo” as a gesture of familiarity, honoring the unseen lives behind public performances.
This painting speaks to anyone who’s ever been moved by the magic of everyday beauty - by the people who shape a city’s culture in quiet, powerful ways. Carlo is a love letter to Florence, to music, and to the emotional stories we carry home from our travels.
Perfect for collectors who appreciate global storytelling, emotional depth, and textured contemporary art.

Print Technique & Materials
Prints are reproductions of original paintings using a high-quality inkjet printing technique known as "giclee."
Unframed and framed artwork is printed on archival cotton rag paper, which is acid free and will resist fading and discoloration for generations. Unframed prints on paper are unsigned and feature a 1.5"-2" white border around the image. Most unframed prints are non-standard sizes and will require a custom mat to properly display the artwork, though the outer dimensions of the mat will fit standard frame sizes.
All framing is custom made to the exact specifications of each image, with an acid-free white mat and acrylic glazing (glass is prone to breaking when shipped). Most prints are non-traditional sizes and will not fit properly in mats or frames purchased off the shelf, therefore custom framing is recommended.
Canvas prints are referred to as "gallery-wrapped" because the color or image wraps around the sides of the canvas and it is stapled on the back. The canvas is wrapped around 1.5" deep wood stretcher bars and arrives ready to hang.
Framed canvas prints feature a "float frame," which has a 0.25" gap between the edge of the canvas and the frame moulding. The frame is 2" deep.
Custom Mat for Unframed Paper
Most unframed prints are non-standard sizes and will require a custom mat to properly display the artwork, though the outer dimensions of the mat will fit standard frame sizes.
You can purchase a custom mat from your local frame shop or online. If online, we suggest Matboard & More. Choose Arctic White in Decorative Quality, or if you prefer to upgrade, select White Art in Conservation Quality.
